Women at the WELL
Monthly gathering for nourishment and meaningful conversation
For thousands of years, women gathered daily at wells. Not just for water, but for wisdom.
Across cultures throughout history, women made the daily journey to wells. These weren't solitary trips. They were community rituals where news was shared and stories were told. Wells became the social heart of communities - places where relationships deepened and collective wisdom flowed as freely as the water itself.
Modern life has scattered us into surface interactions. But the human need for meaningful connection, especially among women navigating life's complexities, remains unchanged.
The world feels overwhelming right now
Global tragedy fills our feeds. Doom scrolling has replaced connection. Social media promised to bring us together, but too often delivers projection and finger-pointing instead of genuine empathy and understanding. The planet is struggling, and we feel the weight of problems too vast to solve alone.
Women at the Well draws on the ancient rhythm of gathering, and carries it into a modern form inspired by the great salons, where art, poetry, and ideas opened new worlds of thought.
Here, every voice matters. Poetry sparks reflection, art shifts perspective, and authentic conversation becomes an antidote to digital overwhelm.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Each month we’ll gather to explore:
A short opening where Skylar will "set the table" for our time together
Each woman sharing something that's been speaking to her—a poem, piece of art, article, song, an experience or a conversation that's stayed with her
Space for thoughtful, open dialogue about the themes and threads that emerge
The grounding that comes from slowing down with curious women who see beyond the headlines
Think less book club, more gathering-of-voices.
Less reactive scrolling, more intentional reflection on what deserves our attention and care.
YOU BELONG HERE IF…
You're drawn to poetry, art, and ideas that challenge how you see the world.
You want meaningful dialogue with women who think deeply about life's beauty and complexity.
You're seeking refuge from digital chaos and hunger for connection that restores rather than depletes.
About Your Circle Holder
I'm Skylar, and I'll be holding space for our monthly gatherings. Through coaching, circles, and meditations, I’ve helped thousands of midlife women silence their inner critic, trust their wisdom, and step into the next chapter without apologizing for taking up space.
I believe deeply in the power of women gathering to share stories, art, and authentic conversation. My role isn't to teach or direct, but to "set the table" each month and gently guide our time together so every voice can be heard.
I bring over a decade of experience facilitating meaningful conversations and creating sacred space, along with a commitment to the kind of thoughtful dialogue I believe our world desperately needs.

THE WELL’S PROMISE
Our Sacred Agreement for Women at the Well
We promise to:
Honor each other's humanity. We come from different backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. These differences enrich rather than threaten our gathering.
Listen with curiosity. When conversation touches on difficult topics - and it will - we choose wondering over winning, questions over conclusions.
Keep our circle sacred. What's shared here lives here. Personal stories, vulnerable moments, and private reflections remain within our well.
Contribute to our feast. Like any potluck, everyone brings something. Your poem, article, artwork, or insight nourishes us all. Show up with your offering and your presence.
Navigate tension with grace. When we disagree or feel triggered, we pause, breathe, and remember that discomfort often signals growth. We can hold different truths simultaneously.
Tend the waters carefully. We reject language or attitudes that dehumanize others. The world has enough places for cruelty - this isn't one of them.
Trust the process. Some gatherings will feel profound, others ordinary. Both have value. We're here for the long arc of connection, not perfect moments.
FAQ
-
Perfect. We're not looking for experts in anything - just women who are curious and ready to engage thoughtfully. Your authentic perspective is exactly what the circle needs.
-
Life happens. If your circumstances change and you can’t commit to our circle, we'll have a conversation about your space potentially going to someone on our waiting list. The commitment helps ensure group continuity.
-
Just a device that can access Zoom and a quiet space where you can speak freely. We'll send you the link and any technical details after you're accepted.
-
You always have something. It might be a song that evoked an emotion, an overheard conversation, or even silence you've been sitting with. The "something" doesn't have to be profound - just real and meaningful to you.
-
We're not a political discussion group, but we're also not living in a bubble. When current events naturally arise through the art, poetry, articles, or experiences we share, we engage with curiosity rather than a right to supremacy. This isn't a space for political organizing or heated debate, but for the kind of nuanced conversation that helps us make sense of complex times.
Like the ancient wells that sustained entire communities, our circle thrives because each woman pours something in while drawing what she needs.
We don't just gather at the well - we become the well.
